About David:

David Tilmon is a seasoned fingerstyle guitarist based in Colorado, with over a decade of experience performing regularly and captivating audiences through his intricate playing and heartfelt compositions. Known for his expressive fingerstyle technique, David’s performances resonate with both technical skill and emotional depth. His music, often drawing inspiration from Colorado’s natural landscapes, blends folk, classical, jazz, and Americana influences, creating a rich and dynamic soundscape. David’s dedication to his craft and unique musical voice make him a standout figure in the acoustic music scene.

David’s expansive repertoire includes dozens of original compositions as well as arrangements and covers of popular songs from a wide array of genres. His performances are primarily instrumental, but he interweaves singing and his own original songs within an expansive setlist with wide appeal.

David’s approach to playing the guitar is similar to the classical approach of playing the instrument with the fingers rather than a guitar pick, and is heavily influenced by early fingerstyle guitarists such as Chet Atkins. However, he is influenced by several genres and more contemporary fingerstyle guitarists such as Tommy Emmanuel as well as many other guitarists including Pat Metheny, Eric Johnson, and Jeff Beck. Although having a strong emphasis on instrumental music, he also incorporates and is greatly influenced by many different artists including some of his favorite singer-songwriters; Neil Young, Tom Petty, and Tom Waits.
